Kali Chaudas puja procedure

Procedure:

Mothers need to chant the following mantra while giving bath to their children:
“Ashwatthama balirvyaso Hanumancha vibheeshanah
krupah Parashurashcha sapthaithe Chiranjeevinah”

Kali Chaudas prayer procedure

After the holy bath, place some consecrated yellow rice or Akshada on your head.
Chant the following mantra after the Naraka Chaturdashi bath ritual
“Bhramayeth snanamadhyethu narakasya kshayayahi
Sheetaloshta samayuktha sakantaka dalanvitha
Hara papa mapaamaarga Bhramyamaanah punah punah”
In the evening, prepare for the puja with the lighting of lamp.
“Chaturdashyam Thu Yedeepaan Narakaya Dadanthi Cha
Thesham Pitruganassarve Narakath Swarga Maapnuyu”

The importance of Narak Chaturdashi

• This day is meant to herald the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon Narakasur.• In some regions, it is said Lord Hanuman incarnated on this day.• It is said Lord Hanuman reached Ayodhya on this day from Lanka to announce the victorious arrival of Lord Sri Rama after conquering Ravan. Therefore the people of Ayodhya decorated their homes with lamps to invite Lord Ram back to Ayodhya.• Performing Kali puja and Lakshmi puja on this day are considered highly auspicious.• It is believed that this festival marks the end of the darkness and the starting of brightness and happiness throughout the world.
